History

1921	Jiro Hamai founded HAMAI Manufacturing Works, a private company.
1936	Successfully produced a prototype High Precision Gear Hobbing Machine.
1938	HAMAI Machine and Tool Mfg. Works. Ltd. was established.
1946	Corporate name was changed to HAMAI CO.,LTD.
1952	Started production of Gear Testing Machines.v
1954	Started production of Flat Lapping Machines.
1957	Started production of precision gears on Swiss Reishauer Gear Grinders.
1963	Was listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Second Section. Osaka Branch Office was opened.
1964	Started production of Full Automatic High Precision Gear Hobbing Machines Models: 130A and 40A
1965	Joined the Japan Machine Tool Builders Dai-ichi Group (JMD).
1969	Completed first phase of Ashikaga manufacturing facility plant project. . Started production of Production Milling Machines under license agreement with Hitachi Seiki Co., Ltd.
1971	Completed second phase of Ashikaga manufacturing facility plant project. Started production of Boring and Milling Machines under license agreement with Butler, England.
1976	Started production of the SP series High Speed High Power Hobbing Machines. Started production of the MC series Vertical Machining Centers.
1978	Started production of the MAC series Ram type Milling Machines.
1980	Started OEM production for P&W, USA. Completed second phase of Ashikaga manufacturing facility plant project.
1982	Started production of Vertical Machining Centers 3VA, 5VA, and NC Copy Milling Machines.
1983	Started production of Horizontal Machining Centers Model: 3HA.
1984	Opened Kitakanto Branch Office. Started production of Flat Lapping Machines Model 18BF.
1989	Concluded a technical license agreement on Gear Hobbing Machines with LIEBHERR, Germany.
1993	Started production of Flat Lapping Machines Models 22BF, 24BF, and 28BF.
1994	Started production of Flat Lapping Machines Models 16BF, and 32BF.
1998	Started production of Polishing Machines for 16" wafers (Delivered to SSI). Started production of Single-sided Polishing Machines Model HS-360.
1999	Started production of CNC Hobbing Machines Model N60. Started production of Ultra-Precision Flat Lapping Machine Model 16BN.
2000	Started production of Ultra-Precision Flat Lapping Machines Models 24BN and 32BN. Started production of Single-Side Lapping Machine Models HS470/630/840.. Obtained ISO9001 certification(Lloyd's, JAB, UKAS)
2003	Started production of Ultra Precision Lapping and Polishing Machine 46BN
2005	Started production of CNC Hobbing Machine N80
2006	Established Hamai Engineering Co., Ltd., a non-consolidated subsidiary for maintenance services. Started production of CNC Hobbing Machine N40
2009	Concluded a sales agreement on hobbing cutters with Schnyder SA, Switzerland
2010	Started production of Single-Side Polishing Machine HS-1200
2012	Established Hamai Machine Technos (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.
2020	Introduced on a book, “The Companies with a Long History in Tokyo.”
